A read-only MCP server for your data platform

20 October 2026 · The Nistor team · 1 min read

Nistor ships an MCP server, so the assistants your engineers already use can answer questions about your data platform from the graph instead of guessing.

What it can answer

The server exposes 26 read-only tools: search, lineage, impact analysis, incidents, runs, rules, data quality, catalog, health, usage and cost. "What breaks if I drop this table?" becomes a question you can ask in your editor.

Read-only on purpose

The MCP layer adds no privilege. Every tool reads; none writes. Write tools are deliberately deferred until they can go through the same reversible, audited path as every other operation in Nistor.

Set it up

The server runs over stdio or Streamable HTTP. Setup notes for Claude Desktop, Cursor and Gemini CLI come with the docs, soon.
